Leon Balogun suffers ‘bad injury’ as Rangers boss Philippe Clement discusses return timeline

Following Leon Balogun’s early forced exit against Livingston, Philippe Clement feels the Rangers defender has “probably broken something in his face.”

After only 22 minutes at Ibrox, the Nigerian goalkeeper had to be replaced by John Souttar due to a head-on collision with Livingston center-back Shaun Donnellan. Although Clement acknowledges that the injury is severe, he expresses optimism that the 35-year-old will not require a prolonged period of rest, calling the former QPR player a “warrior.”

After the 3-0 victory, the Belgian was asked about Balogun and responded, “Not good and good in a way.” It is not good since he most likely shattered something in his face and it is a serious injury.

The positive side is he is a warrior and he is somebody with experience who already had things like that in the past. He believes he can be back fast with a mask so I hope that is the case. It is the medical staff who need to decide that.”
