Prior to the 2024 NFL Draft in April, Caleb Williams has been widely seen as the top overall choice for several months.

The Chicago Bears, who have suffered for many years and haven’t won in the playoffs since 2010, own that pick. Williams’ fascinating situation over whether or not to commit to the Bears should they choose him stems from Chicago’s lack of promise.

Colin Cowherd of FS1 provided an update on the quarterback potential of the next generation.
“USC’s quarterback is the best quarterback prospect they can remember, according to NFL executives,” Cowherd said on “The Herd” on Friday.

“I think Caleb Williams privately deep down has real concerns about the Bears.”
Cowherd went on, “The Chicago Bears are not a winning football operation.” They have placed last 50% of the time over the past ten years. Their head coach is under pressure to win more games in September. In the division, they are the only team with a defense coach. QBs in their youth are only as good as their landing. 10-28 is Justin Fields’ age. Do you believe that if he had inherited Andy Reid, he would be 10–28? No, I don’t.

Cowherd revealed on the show that he recently got information from the quarterback’s team regarding their current situation, in light of the rumors that have been circulating regarding Williams’ wishes for his future team before to the draft.

Cowherd stated, “I received a call from the Caleb Williams camp yesterday.” “… (They declared), ‘We wish to avoid being portrayed as anti-Chicago and anti-Bears.'”
