Leeds United’s Elland Road would be an ‘attractive proposition’ to Euro 2028 organisers – should Belfast’s Casement Park not be completed in time. A report in the Times suggested the Northern Ireland venue may not be completed for the tournament in four years time.
It was one of the 10 proposed venues for the Euro28, but a new venue could need to be found. Leeds United’s owners are thought to be considering expanding Elland Road, and that would potentially make the famous ground an ideal candidate.
Football finance expert Kieran Maguire feels Leeds would have the advantage over West Ham’s London Stadium, with the potential for Elland Road to host matches as they did in Euro 96.
