Roman Wilson, the ex-Michigan football wide receiver, is the standout performer at the Senior Bowl.

Regarded by many observers as an instant standout from Day 1 at the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, former Michigan football wide receiver Roman Wilson continued to solidify his status as a player to keep an eye on during Day 2 of the event.

Accounts from attendees and online sources have highlighted Wilson’s performance, particularly noting his prowess as a slot receiver, standing officially at 5-foot-10 and 186 pounds, while once again showcasing his speed and reliable hands.

One of his standout moments occurred during an 11-on-11 drill on Monday, where footage captured Wilson matching up against former Penn State standout Kalen King in the slot, effortlessly beating him in man coverage to secure what would have been a touchdown pass from former Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman.

Wilson’s impressive showing prompted a scout to convey to NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, “I feel pretty good about my Roman Wilson grade,” with NFL.com draft analysts Lance Zierlein and Eric Edholm also praising Wilson as one of the top slot receivers on Monday, alongside Georgia standout Ladd McConkey.

Additionally, Wilson’s sprint during a route clocked in at a notable 20.07 m.p.h., ranking as the third fastest among wideouts on the national team according to Zebra Sports.

On Tuesday, Wilson continued to attract attention by maintaining his composure despite a momentary stumble during an out-route in man coverage against former Toledo DB Quinyon Mitchell. He displayed remarkable concentration and athleticism by securing a one-handed catch on a pass thrown behind him, ultimately being lauded by Jim Nagy, executive director of the event, as making the catch of the day.

Wilson enjoyed a breakout senior season, tallying 48 receptions for 789 yards and 12 touchdowns, marking the highest touchdown count by a wide receiver in a single season since Mario Manningham in 2007. His collegiate career concluded with 107 receptions for 1,707 yards and 22 total touchdowns.

Despite his perceived undersized stature for the NFL, Wilson’s exceptional speed positions him favorably in the eyes of many scouts, projecting him as a potential Day 2 pick, a sentiment further reinforced by his performance in Mobile.

Among the former Wolverines participating in the Senior Bowl are offensive linemen Trevor Keegan and LaDarius Henderson, tight end AJ Barner, and edge rushers Jaylen Harrell and Braiden McGregor. Linebacker Michael Barrett and DB Mike Sainristil were initially slated for the event but later withdrew.
