Former Philadelphia Eagles coach Brian Johnson is reportedly scheduled to interview with the Washington Commanders.
Brian Johnson, the former offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, is poised to bounce back after his departure following a disappointing season. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Washington Commanders are anticipated to interview Johnson for their vacant offensive coordinator position, potentially keeping him in the NFC East.
Schultz tweeted, “The Commanders are expected to interview former Eagles OC Brian Johnson for their open OC job, sources tell BleacherReport. Kliff Kingsbury will be firmly in the mix for Washington.”
With Washington finishing the season with a 4-13 record, changes are expected, including the departure of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who has reportedly engaged in discussions with the Las Vegas Raiders regarding their OC vacancy.
Should Johnson secure the role, Washington boasts promising offensive assets. Terry McLaurin remains one of the league’s most dependable No. 1 receivers, while Jahan Dotson shows potential as a young pass-catching talent entering his third season. Additionally, the Commanders feature running back Brian Robinson Jr., who has demonstrated versatility both on the ground and in the passing game.
