Shamar Arnoux Withdraws Commitment from Tennessee.
Despite Tennessee’s overall success in recruiting for the 2025 class, there have been setbacks. On Saturday night, Shamar Arnoux from Carrollton High School in Georgia, who was initially committed to the Volunteers, announced his decommitment. Arnoux, a promising cornerback prospect and Tennessee’s first commitment in the 2025 class, had previously been teammates with Dylan Lewis and Tyler Redmond, both committed to play corner for the Vols.
Arnoux made the decommitment announcement after visiting Georgia on Saturday, where he spent time with his current high school teammate Julian Lewis, a USC quarterback commit. Despite this setback, Tennessee still boasts a strong recruiting class with several top defensive back prospects being actively pursued. Arnoux’s social media post on X featured a picture from his Georgia visit with the caption, “This visit hit different.”
Notably, Tennessee had numerous visitors on campus, including key targets like Cameron Sparks and Ethan Utley. It raised eyebrows that Arnoux visited another school during a crucial recruiting event like junior day hosted by Tennessee. The latest news release sheds light on the situation, and despite the decommitment, the Volunteers maintain a highly regarded recruiting class, currently ranked No. 11 in the 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
