4 Edmonton Oilers players to keep an eye on following the All-Star Break

The faces of the Edmonton Oilers are Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, and almost all NHL fans will be watching as they try to keep the team competitive after the NHL All-Star Break. During Edmonton’s 16-game winning streak, they have been extremely productive; McDavid has scored 19 points and Draisaitl has scored 17 since the start of the new year.

They have also scored three power play goals and provided ten assists for a total of 13 points since January 2nd. It is evident that the output of McDavid and Draisaitl has influenced many stages of the game, and there is no reason to believe that this trend won’t continue.

However, they aren’t able to carry the club all the time, so if Edmonton hopes to win, a number of players will need to continue their own hot runs.

Stuart Skinner has undoubtedly been on a roll lately, and the more he plays like this, the more likely it is that the Edmonton Oilers will continue to win. Although the Oilers’ impressive performance in front of the 25-year-old has been helpful, Skinner has still contributed.

As anyone who has watched the Oilers throughout their 16-game winning run may already be aware of Skinner’s excellence. You might not be aware, though, that he has allowed two goals or fewer in 11 straight games.

According to QuantHockey, Skinner has gone 11-0-0 since December 28th with a save percentage of 0.954, a goals against average of 1.26, and a shutout. In the same time frame, Skinner’s 293 saves rank 10th in the NHL, and as you are undoubtedly aware, he leads the league with 11 victories.

How much longer can Edmonton’s top goalie continue to be productive after the All-Star Break? When play resumes later this month, we hope to have an answer to this question.
