According to reports, the Tennessee Vols are making a wise, unseen hiring that should increase their recruiting performance in Georgia.
Steven Ruzic is being hired by Tennessee to join the Vols’ recruiting and personnel team, according to Phillip Dukes of On3.
The Warner Robbins, Georgia native Ruzic has held player personnel positions at Indiana, Auburn, North Carolina, Minnesota, and Ole Miss.
Ruzic was included on the annual 30 under 30 list by 247Sports in 2022, which showcases some of the best young college football coaches.
Ruzic was regarded as a crucial component of the Tigers’ Georgia recruiting campaign while he was at Auburn. He is well-connected to Georgia’s high schools as well as the 7-on-7 circuits, which are vital for recruitment.
Even though it won’t make much news, this is a huge addition for the Vols. When it comes to recruitment, the on-field coaches receive the most of the focus, but players like Ruzic often emerge victorious in these contests.
Additionally, Ruzic is connected to one of Tennessee’s most recent hires. Cayden Cochran became an offensive analyst for the Vols last week. Cochran, who played for Oklahoma for one season when Josh Heupel was the offensive coordinator for the Sooners, won a DII national championship at Valdosta State. Ruzic was a student defensive assistant at Valdosta State during that same season.
