It seems like Kyren Williams saw into the future.

He loves to pretend that is the case.

After 2018, Williams became the first 1,000-yard rusher for the Rams. The 23-year-old runner also said in an interview with NFL.com that he anticipated playing in a season similar to 2023.

“I would say I expected it because, going into this year, all I wanted was a chance,” Williams said during Friday’s Pro Bowl workouts, as reported by NFL.com. And I was certain that I would act in the same way given the chance. I only wanted an opportunity to demonstrate that I was the kind of player I thought I was. And coach [Sean] McVay trusted me enough to give me the opportunity, and as a player, it allowed me to feel good and just be who I am.”

Los Angeles Rams breakout star knew his moment was coming before even taking the field

Williams had a spectacular season in 2023. On 228 carries, he gained 1,144 yards of running. That was good enough to tie for the third-most yards gained in the NFL through the air. In addition, Williams ended with 12 touchdowns, which was excellent for sixth place in the league.

Williams only played in 12 games, but he was one of the league’s top runners, which is what made his season so remarkable.

It’s always 20/20 in retrospect. However, Williams discovered that all he needed was an opportunity to demonstrate his potential as a running back.
