The Chicago Bulls’ strategy leading up to this Thursday’s trade deadline is being closely watched. Even while it seems like they still plan to struggle through this season with their present core, the majority still believes that they should ultimately press the reset button.

This prompted seasoned sports media personality Bill Simmons to provide a compelling trade suggestion, according to which the Bulls would send Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan to the Miami Heat in return for Tyler Herro and a first-round selection.

This season, Deebo and Alex have both remained in their leadership roles in Chicago. Throughout 49 games, the All-Star swingman is averaging 22.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.1 rebounds. The versatile veteran in AC, meantime, has 9.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists while hitting 40.4 percent from three, which is the highest percentage of his career.

However, Herro is still regarded as one of the league’s best microwave guards. Averages for him include 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and a career-best 40.3 percent shooting percentage from downtown.

Herro can continue to earn until the 2026–2027 season thanks to the long-term stability of his existing contract. For Deebo, on the other hand, who has a contract that is about to expire, this is entirely different, AC for his part, will get paid until next season

In order to close this hypothetical deal, the Heat must pay DeMar and Alex the same amount. However, a possible trade including all of the aforementioned players will only indicate that the Bulls are determined to rebuild.

Herro and Coby White will create a formidable young backcourt duo, so adding him is an exciting notion. The Miami first-round selection that comes with the deal will also be vital to the team’s future rebuilding efforts.

As it stands, the Heat will make this move in a desperate attempt to win the championship. Miami will undoubtedly love having Carushow at their side because his skill sets, hustle, and defense perfectly embody their proud Heat Culture and what head coach Erik Spoelstra desires in a player. However, there is plenty of skepticism regarding the redundancy of play style between Deebo and Jimmy Butler.

However, by obtaining DeMar, they now have the option of using the flexible salary space they saved to either look for other stars in free agency or re-sign him this offseason.

With less than 24 hours left on the clock before we reach the trade deadline, it is yet to be seen if this trade proposal by Simmons will materialize into reality for both the Bulls and the Heat.
