Pittsburgh The Pittsburgh Steelers said that they are open to trading for a quarterback this summer, and if the Chicago Bears are their top choice, they most certainly already know what the asking price is.

At first, it was thought Justin Fields would be selected in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Many predict that the Bears, who own the first overall choice, will either trade down to take Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye, or they will draft Caleb Williams.

In any case, Fields doesn’t seem to be their quarterback going forward. Additionally, he will be rather expensive for the clubs trying to trade for him, which may include the Steelers.

Steelers Learn Trade Price For Justin Field

This summer, Fields might “definitely” try for a first-round pick, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on ESPN Chicago.

The 20th choice in the draft that the Steelers now possess could be plenty to provide to Chicago in exchange for a trade. Pittsburgh is aware that getting solid quarterback play is the “next step” for the team. Perhaps they think the former first-round selection of the Bears will provide that.

If not, they may consider bringing Mason Rudolph back, something they have expressed interest in doing. In addition to signing an outside option, obtaining Russell Wilson from the Denver Broncos is another possible move.

  1. As a long time Steelers (faithful) fan since the days of Bobby Lane as QB and Buddy Parker as Coach< STRONGLY ask the Steelers to do their best to get QB Justin Fields from the Bears. I think that giving up Deontae Johnson (who would be the same value/quality as a second round pick and one of our 4th round picks would be a good deal for both teams. It would give Caleb Williams another quality receiver to pass to. And, it would give the Steelers the quality QB that they have have been lacking since the retirement of Big Ben. The Steelers in all probability get FA Tyler Boyd (a native of the Pittsburgh area) to replace Deontae Johnson. All of the Steeler Pod Casts that I have watched lately strongly suggest that the Steelers do their best to get Fields. I AGREE!!!
