Frank Ragnow is set to join the Lions for the 2024 season despite being overlooked by coaches.
The Detroit Lions are set to welcome back their skilled and resilient center for the upcoming 2024 season. Frank Ragnow, who revealed the toll of battling injuries over the past couple of years at the end of a challenging season, has affirmed his commitment to continue playing in Detroit.
“I just need a few weeks to recuperate,” Ragnow shared with the Free Press during NFL Honors. “Usually, I dive straight back into my typical offseason routine, but I’m realizing as I get older that sometimes less is more. I need some time to ensure my health, and then I’ll be ready to get back in action.”
In an unexpected turn, Dan Campbell missed out on winning Coach of the Year, with Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski claiming the honor instead. This marks the second consecutive year that Detroit’s talented offensive coordinator, Ben Johnson, leaves NFL Honors without recognition. Despite the Lions boasting a top 10 offense, Johnson once again fell short, this time to former Detroit head coach Jim Schwartz, who secured the Assistant Coach of the Year accolade for his outstanding performance as the Browns’ defensive coordinator in the AFC North.
