The offseason strategy hinges on the fate of four crucial Rams players.


Following the conclusion of the Wild Card Round of the 2024 NFL Playoffs at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, the fate of the LA Rams hinged on the scoreboard. Regardless of how they arrived, the Rams found themselves on the losing end of the final score, indicating that they would be heading home, empty-handed, in the win-or-go-home format of the playoffs.

Despite their 0-1 postseason record, it’s challenging to feel excessively disheartened by this team. Personally, I can’t help but feel optimistic about a team that transformed 14 rookies from the 2023 NFL Draft into a playoff-worthy squad in less than a season.

However, once the game against the Detroit Lions concluded, both fans and players had to confront the reality displayed on the scoreboard: the 2023 NFL season had concluded. No more opening kickoffs, injury reports, or games. The memories from 2023 needed to be packed away to make room for a new era of coaching staff, players, games, and memories.

The team’s front office wasted no time getting to work. Constructing a new roster isn’t a spontaneous process. The initial priority was to secure key practice squad players with Reserve/Future contracts to retain promising prospects from the previous season.

Initially, 10 players inked Reserve/Future contracts with the team, followed by four additional players. Additionally, rookie kicker Tanner Brown was re-signed to a Reserve/Future contract. With these preliminary tasks accomplished, the front office can now focus on larger matters.

The offseason strategy resembles a cascade of dominoes, where early actions dictate subsequent decisions and actions. Therefore, the fate of certain players in the 2024 offseason will significantly influence the team’s approach to the 2024 NFL Free Agency market and the 2024 NFL Draft.
