Jesse Puljujarvi is another former Oilers player who is expected to return to the NHL. After playing for a while in the American Hockey League (AHL), he formally signed a new deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins this afternoon.

This afternoon, Puljujarvi consented to a two-year contract worth $800,000. Before signing this deal, the 25-year-old winger had nine points in 13 AHL games.

Puljujarvi had a difficult year last year; it was not his best contract year. He struggled offensively even though his defensive metrics were strong. In 75 NHL games between the Oilers and the Carolina Hurricanes, he only managed 16 points.

Today, Puljujarvi is rehearsing with the team. In March, there are two games between the Oilers and the Penguins. The first on the third at home, and the second (on the tenth) in Pittsburgh.
