Nicolas Larcamon, the manager of Cruzeiro, believes that Rangers’ underperforming player Jose Cifuentes will depart Ibrox permanently during the summer.

Cifuentes, who arrived in Glasgow for £1.2 million from LAFC under Michael Beale’s recruitment campaign for the 2023/24 season, initially generated excitement among fans due to his impressive performances in America, which circulated widely on social media.

However, Cifuentes failed to win over the fanbase and received little favor from manager Philippe Clement. Despite starting in 14 of his 20 appearances for Rangers, according to Transfermarkt, he found himself sidelined by Clement before ultimately transferring to Cruzeiro in the Brazilian Serie A.

The arrangement involves a loan until the season’s end with an option to buy, and Larcamon expressed confidence to the press, as reported by freelance journalist Mark Walker in the Daily Record, that Cruzeiro will exercise their option to purchase Cifuentes permanently, citing his belief in the player’s versatility and the benefits he can bring to the team.
