Leeds United footage reveals Joe Gelhardt’s response when Daniel Farke expressed frustration against Rotherham.

Following the game, the Leeds manager commented (as reported by Yorkshire Evening Post on February 10th): “I find myself out of sync with this generation. Regarding penalties, I lean towards a more traditional approach, to be frank. I prefer seeing the ball placed into the corner, similar to the last home game where Joel Piroe executed a penalty in that manner. I’m not particularly fond of the current trend. Especially considering we’ve had a few misses. However, I’d rather the player scored in this manner than opting for the conventional approach and hitting the post.”Daniel Farke appointed manager of Leeds United - Leeds United

Farke’s dissatisfaction with the Panenka penalty style is understandable, particularly considering the high stakes and his team’s need for a win. Nonetheless, he cannot deny the confidence displayed by Summerville, who has been in exceptional form lately. With fifteen goals already this season, Summerville’s daring approach seems justified. In football, after all, success often comes from seizing opportunities with boldness.

The Leeds United supporters won’t be bothered either. What they seek is entertainment and value for their money when they make the journey to Elland Road. Witnessing Summerville’s display of confidence and charisma certainly adds to the excitement of their trips.
