Preview of Tennessee baseball for the year 2024
Tennessee kicks off its 2024 season against Texas Tech (8 p.m. EST) at the Shriners Children’s College Baseball Showdown presented by Kubota. This event will be held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, the home stadium of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers. Among the teams participating in the tournament are Tennessee, Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas Tech.
In addition to their opening game against Texas Tech, Tennessee will play against Oklahoma on Saturday and Baylor on Sunday.
Junior infielder Christian Moore is set to embark on his third season with Tennessee in 2024. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 216 pounds, Moore has played in 114 games, starting in 90, between 2022 and 2023 at Tennessee. Throughout this time, he has amassed 27 home runs, 86 RBIs, 101 hits, 77 walks, 96 runs, and 17 stolen bases. Moore boasts a .963 fielding percentage, committing no errors in 2022 and a total of eight errors last season.
