CINCINNATI — The Steelers are reportedly considering the possibility of acquiring one of their new offensive coordinator’s former quarterbacks. Several NFL network reporters have indicated that Ryan Tannehill could reunite with Arthur Smith in Pittsburgh.
Smith previously served as Tannehill’s offensive coordinator in Tennessee for two seasons before transitioning to the head coach position in Atlanta.
According to sources, with Arthur Smith now leading the offense in Pittsburgh, there’s a likelihood that the Steelers will explore the option of signing free agent Ryan Tannehill, who experienced success during his tenure with the Titans while Smith was his OC.
During the current season, Tannehill played in 10 games, starting in eight, and achieved a 3-5 record. He completed 64.8% of his passes, accumulating 1,616 yards, four touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
The quarterback situation in Pittsburgh remains fluid, especially with Kenny Pickett showing signs of underperformance whenever he starts.
