Sawyer Deering elaborates on his dedication to the Vols.
Tennessee baseball has been enjoying success on the recruiting front, securing commitments from sought-after prospects. One recent addition to the Volunteer roster is Sawyer Deering, a class of 2025 player proficient in both pitching and right-handed batting. Deering, who committed to the Vols on November 13th, primarily plays as an outfielder and pitcher, intending to focus on pitching during his time as a Tennessee Volunteer.
In a conversation with Volunteer Country shortly after his commitment, Deering highlighted the compelling culture fostered by Coach V and the coaching staff as a key factor influencing his decision to commit to Tennessee. He commended Coach Vitello’s approach in running the program, emphasizing the familial atmosphere within the team.
Deering, who has prior connections with some Volunteer commits and has engaged with current Tennessee players, mentioned playing alongside Carson Brumbaugh and Tate Strickland. Additionally, he shared interactions with Drew Beam, AJ Russell, and Christian Moore during his visit. The advice he received from them emphasized following one’s heart in making decisions.
Expressing anticipation for his future at Tennessee, Deering looks forward to participating in high-quality baseball within the competitive conference and becoming an integral part of the Vols family.
