Breaking: “Outstanding” Rangers star ready to quit Ibrox due to….
Reportedly, a Rangers player is seeking to depart from Ibrox at the season’s end and has the opportunity to secure his next move presently.
In Philippe Clement’s initial transfer window tenure as Rangers manager, it proved fruitful as three new players were acquired on loan: Fabio Silva from Wolves, Mohamed Diomande from Nordsjaelland, and Oscar Cortes from Lens. Simultaneously, Sam Lammers, Jose Cifuentes, and Adam Devine went out on temporary deals until season end.
Reflecting on the club’s recent transactions, Clement expressed contentment, stating, “I’m happy that it’s finished and we know what the squad is to go on for the next four months. It’s almost going to be a sprint now in the next four months with a lot of games and we know what the squad is.
We adjusted a few things to get balance in the squad, we added some young and talented players who can raise their game here and add value to the club and also, in the future, to bring more money into the club. It’s not the main concern, the main concern is to get results but with a good business plan.”
Rangers are currently in contention with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership, alongside ongoing participation in the Europa League and Scottish Cup post their League Cup victory. With a potentially hectic remainder of the season, it appears that one player has already set sights on leaving Glasgow.
Football Insider has reported in the last 48 hours that left-back Borna Barisic is likely to depart from Ibrox at the end of the current season without a transfer fee, already contemplating a “bigger deal” elsewhere.
The report suggests, “Rangers left-back Borna Barisic is ready to quit the club this summer when his contract comes to an end, sources have told Football Insider. The 31-year-old’s deal is up in May and he is now looking to take advantage of his free agent status in the off-season. Barisic is aware he can get a bigger deal elsewhere if he leaves Ibrox for free.”
Having been with Rangers since 2018, Barisic has experienced considerable success at Ibrox. Former managers Steven Gerrard and Michael Beale have lauded his performances, with Gerrard noting, “Borna was outstanding last night, he is the Croatian left-back and he is used to these high-pressure games.
He is very highly respected by the staff and in the dressing room.” Beale also praised Barisic’s consistency, stating, “I think Borna must have sensed he [Yilmaz] was getting fit because Borna has been consistently our strongest player over the last few weeks.”
However, with Ridvan Yilmaz now the preferred choice under Clement and persistent rumors linking Rangers to left-back Jefte, the potential departure of Barisic may not be catastrophic for the club.
