Packers Conclude Season Ranked Among Top 10 Teams in NFL Power Rankings

In the final NFL power rankings for the 2023 season published by NFL.com’s Eric Edholm, the Green Bay Packers secured the ninth position. Despite the debatable relevance of post-season power rankings, Edholm noted the Packers’ advancement to the divisional round of the playoffs, emphasizing their promising future. Jordan Love, emerging as a potential star quarterback, showcased impressive performances during the latter part of the season. Love’s remarkable stats included a completion rate of 70.7%, 21 touchdowns, and only one interception from Week 11 through the wild-card game against the Cowboys. Notably, Love’s achievements paralleled those of Drew Brees and Matt Ryan in previous seasons. His stellar play was instrumental in the Packers’ recovery from early setbacks, finishing the season with a 9-8 record and securing a playoff berth.

Edholm highlighted Love’s potential, especially with the team’s young and talented receiving corps, while acknowledging areas for improvement such as solidifying the offensive line and addressing defensive concerns under new leadership. Despite these challenges, the Packers are viewed as strong contenders for the Super Bowl in the upcoming 2024 season, given their impressive performances against top-ranked teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, both of whom they defeated late in the season.
