Could Ravens Linebacker Patrick Queen Be Headed to the Seahawks?

The Seattle Seahawks might find themselves seeking a linebacker in free agency during this offseason.

Under the leadership of new head coach Mike Macdonald, having a middle linebacker to establish the defensive tone aligns with their defensive-minded approach, potentially leading them to consider assistance from Macdonald’s former team, the Baltimore Ravens.

According to Bleacher Report, linebacker Patrick Queen is seen as a potential fit for the Seahawks in free agency. The article notes that with Pete Carroll replaced by former Ravens defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald, and with impending free agency for Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner, there is a vacancy at inside linebacker for the Seahawks.

It’s often observed that coaches like to bring familiar players with them to aid in cultural assimilation and scheme comprehension. It’s suggested that Macdonald might desire to bring Queen to the Pacific Northwest to serve as a defensive leader, while Queen himself might see value in reuniting with his former coach to further his career.

Queen had an impressive season with the Ravens, recording career-high stats including 133 tackles, nine for loss, six quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks, one interception, six passes broken up, and one forced fumble in his 17 starts. Alongside Roquan Smith, he was instrumental in anchoring what many consider one of the NFL’s top defenses. Should he choose to join the Seahawks, he could potentially continue his upward trajectory and establish himself as one of the league’s premier linebackers in Seattle.
