Three instances of free agency involving the Cincinnati Bengals that Chicago Bears enthusiasts should keep an eye on.

The Chicago Bears are scouting the free agent landscape to identify potential fits for their needs this offseason. Following Joe Burrow’s extension, the Cincinnati Bengals face intriguing decisions that could affect the Bears.

One area of focus for Bengals fans, and consequently Bears fans, is the wide receiver position. Notably, Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins, prominent Bengals wideouts apart from Ja’Marr Chase, experienced underwhelming seasons, possibly due to Burrow’s injury. Higgins saw a significant drop in production, from 908 yards to 656 yards, while Boyd posted his lowest yardage since 2017. Both also had decreased yards per route run compared to their career averages. This raises questions about whether the Bengals can retain them or if they’ll enter free agency. If Higgins had performed better, the Bengals might consider using the franchise tag on him. The Bears, in turn, may contemplate whether Boyd, despite his decline, could complement their roster, especially given his historically higher efficiency compared to Darnell Mooney. The outcome of these situations will be of interest to Bears fans.
