Barry Ferguson believes one Rangers star is on his last legs at the club and needs to make an impact at some point before the end of the season.

The former Ibrox captain says the clock is ticking for current crocked striker Kemar Roofe who is recovering from yet another injury setback.

His latest issue was picked up in a game against St Johnstone in December and hasn’t featured for the Rangers first-team since – the £4m man just simply cannot stay fit.

As per Transfermarkt, Roofe has missed 13 Scottish Premiership games this season due to injury. But the Jamaican is certainly one of the best finishers at Rangers and does pop up with an important goal or two when he can play.

Philippe Clement thinks Roofe can still be ‘very important this season’ so it’s clear the forward is close to making a return again.

And Ferguson is singing from the same hymn sheet as the Belgian because the club’s former skipper also believes ‘predator’ Roofe can be a big player.

But the 46-year-old, speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, delivered a warning to Roofe because with his contract running down in the summer, the luckless striker has just three months to salvage his Rangers career.
