The 2024 NFL Hall of Fame selections have been announced, with perennial wide receiver Andre Johnson among the honorees. Johnson, known for his tenure with the Houston Texans along with brief stints at the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, has etched his name at #11 on the all-time receiving yards list, boasting 14,185 yards. His induction recognizes his exceptional playmaking skills, a sentiment echoed by former Texans and Lions cornerback Glover Quin.

Quin recalls a moment during his early days when asked if he feared covering Johnson in practice upon being drafted. While he initially dismissed such concerns, he soon realized the imposing presence of the future Hall of Famer. Quin’s awe of Johnson was such that he refrained from engaging with him during practice, a nod to Johnson’s dynamic persona and prowess on the field.

Despite not yet being enshrined in the Hall of Fame at that time, Johnson had already solidified his status as a standout wide receiver. Over time, Quin overcame his intimidation and forged a bond with Johnson, albeit after summoning the courage to interact with the legendary receiver.
