Even with contenders like Vince Carter or LeBron James in the mix, there’s no denying that there are numerous other formidable dunkers out there.

In this edition of “Polling Place,” your destination for Sun-Times sports polls now hosted on the platform formerly known as Twitter, we posed the question to voters: Who is the ultimate NBA dunker? And the result? Well, it’s no surprise that the consensus leaned towards His Airness, Michael Jordan.

“Dr. J set the standard,” remarked @JeffreyCanalia. “But Michael Jordan took it to another level.”

However, Vince Carter certainly had his supporters, garnering significant praise for his jaw-dropping dunks.

“Vince epitomized finesse, power, and athleticism,” shared @DeyoSahler. “His slam dunks, whether in-game or in contests, are legendary.”
