Injury Report: Declan Casey’s Status

Declan Casey suffered a scare during Wests Tigers’ 18-16 victory over the Warriors in Christchurch but has been given the all-clear from serious injury. The 24-year-old center, making his debut for Wests Tigers, was forced off the field after a high tackle from Warriors forward Zyon Maiu’u in the first half of the Pre-season Challenge match. Casey was promptly taken to the hospital for scans, which thankfully ruled out any serious injury.

Although he watched the remainder of the match from the hospital, Casey has since returned to the team hotel and is set to fly home with his teammates on Monday morning. The club’s medical staff will continue to monitor his condition over the next few days.

Additionally, Solomona Faataape, also in his debut game for the club, sustained a head knock resulting in a few stitches above his left eye, while fellow center Josh Feledy picked up a minor shoulder injury.
