Daniel Farke‘s team, the Whites, reclaimed their position in the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship after a 2-0 victory against Plymouth Argyle last Saturday. However, both Southampton in third place and Ipswich Town in fourth have a match in hand.

Russell Martin’s Southampton team trails Leeds by two points, with Ipswich a further point behind. Ipswich also has the least favorable goal difference among the top three teams. This upcoming week becomes crucial with both Southampton and Ipswich playing their additional fixtures on Tuesday night, and bookmakers anticipate both teams securing three-point victories.

Ipswich will face Rotherham United, currently at the bottom of the table, at Portman Road. Unsurprisingly, Kieran McKenna’s side are heavily favored, with odds as short as 1-5 for their victory. Rotherham is offered at 14-1, and a draw is available at 5-1.

Meanwhile, Southampton will confront Hull City, a team in contention for the playoffs, at St Mary’s, in what is expected to be a closely contested match. Nevertheless, bookmakers still favor Southampton to claim victory, with odds around 1-2.

Southampton’s odds are at 8-15, while Hull’s odds are 5-1. A draw stands at 7-2. Bookmakers predict Southampton will regain the second spot in the standings, one point ahead of Leeds, who would then be above Ipswich based on goal difference, provided Ipswich defeats Rotherham.

However, Leeds still hold their fate for automatic promotion as they are set to face Southampton at Elland Road on the final weekend of the season. Predictions suggest Farke’s Whites will secure the second promotion spot.

Leeds are the second favorites for both the title and promotion, trailing Leicester but leading Southampton and significantly ahead of Ipswich. Leicester’s odds to win the league are at 2-9, followed by Leeds at 8-1, just ahead of Southampton at 10-1. Ipswich trails at 33-1.

Regarding a top-two finish, Leicester stands at 1-16, while Leeds have favorable odds at 10-11 compared to Southampton’s 9-5. Ipswich, at 7-2, is expected to head for the playoffs, with Leicester and Leeds securing automatic promotion.
