LeBron James and Anthony Davis together accumulate their 29th appearance in the All-Star game.
On Sunday evening in Indianapolis, LeBron James and Anthony Davis took part in the NBA’s All-Star game representing the Western Conference, which ended in a 211-186 victory for the East, marking the highest-scoring game thus far.
LeBron’s presence as a starter holds particular significance as it marked his record-breaking 20th appearance. This achievement is notable considering that the majority of NBA players never have the opportunity to participate in an All-Star game. LeBron has maintained this streak since 2004, surpassing Lakers legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (19 appearances) and Kobe Bryant (18 appearances).
Despite his remarkable All-Star history, LeBron, perhaps prioritizing the remainder of the Lakers’ season, opted for limited playing time, logging 14 minutes on the court, during which he contributed eight points, four rebounds, and three assists.
For Anthony Davis, who is nine years younger than LeBron, it was his ninth All-Star appearance. His inclusion places him among an elite group of players, with only 43 individuals in NBA history boasting more All-Star nods than AD.
In the game, Davis played for 23 minutes, scoring six points while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out eight assists. Like LeBron, he seemed content to allow his teammates to take center stage, particularly in a game where defensive intensity was notably lacking.
