Could Cleveland Browns’ Nick Chubb be in contention for significant year-end accolades in 2024?

Four-time Pro Bowl Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb suffered a torn MCL and ACL damage during a Week 2 matchup against the Steelers in the 2023 season, re-injuring the same knee he had previously hurt during his college years at Georgia Bulldogs.

In a recent conversation on The Dawg Check podcast with co-host Eric Metcalf, Max Loeb expressed his belief that Chubb has a good chance of receiving significant year-end awards.

“If you had to pick one Browns player or coach for a future award next year, who would it be?” Loeb inquired. “If you had to nominate one Browns player to either be a finalist for or win the award, who would you choose?”

Initially cautious, Loeb remarked, “I don’t think he’s a guaranteed winner for Comeback Player of the Year. That wouldn’t be fair to other contenders making comebacks. But I do like the idea. I’ll put his name out there for Offensive Player of the Year, though it’s challenging for a running back to secure MVP.”

“However, if Nick Chubb returns healthy, performs well in the offense, I believe he’ll be in the running,” he continued. “I anticipate seeing glimpses of the Nick Chubb we’re familiar with next year, and I’m eagerly looking forward to it.”

Throughout his professional career, the 5’11”, 227-pound All-Pro has accumulated 6,511 rushing yards, 1,011 receiving yards, 48 rushing touchdowns, and four receiving touchdowns.

Despite Chubb’s absence (along with quarterback Deshaun Watson missing a significant portion of the season), Cleveland managed to finish with an 11-6 record and secured a Wild Card spot, albeit losing 45-14 to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round. Veteran Joe Flacco stepped up to stabilize the quarterback position after Watson’s injury.
