West Ham has experienced three consecutive defeats, with their latest loss against Nottingham Forest prompting fans to display ‘Moyes Out’ signs at the stadium. The team, previously contending for Europa League spots, has now dropped to ninth place in the league. Reports suggest that the club’s management is exploring potential replacements for 60-year-old Scottish manager David Moyes, who is currently in his second stint with the London Stadium side.

While the club isn’t rushing into any decisions regarding Moyes’ future, it’s apparent that his position is in jeopardy, with several candidates reportedly being considered to succeed him. Among them are former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui, ex-Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper, and former Chelsea manager Graham Potter. Oliver Glasner, previously admired for the role, has been appointed as the new Crystal Palace manager. It remains uncertain whether any of these potential replacements would be interested, especially considering Potter’s history of rejecting offers since leaving Chelsea.

Julen Lopetegui has been added to potential replacements for West Ham

Lopetegui, the latest addition to the list, has been without a job since departing from Wolves in 2023. His managerial experience includes leading various Spanish youth teams and the senior squad from 2016 to 2018. He has also managed teams like Porto, Real Madrid, and Sevilla, achieving success in competitions like the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup.

Moyes’ contract with West Ham is set to expire this summer. While discussions about a new deal had begun earlier due to a promising start to the season, recent poor performances have dampened the enthusiasm to renew his contract.

This situation parallels Moyes’ predicament last year when West Ham faced potential relegation concerns. However, their triumph in the Europa Conference League ensured Moyes would fulfill the final year of his contract.
