Mizzou Football sets the date for the Black and Gold Spring Game.
The Missouri football team has announced that the annual Black and Gold Spring Game will take place on March 16 at 1 p.m. CT at Faurot Field, with free admission.
At the onset of the previous season, the Tigers were largely overlooked as potential contenders for the College Football Playoff or even a spot in the top 25. However, they concluded the season with an impressive 11-2 record, their best since 2014, and secured a No. 8 ranking in the polls following a victory over Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl.
Numerous players and coaches from Mizzou stood out during the season, earning recognition and awards within the college football community. Additionally, eight players have received invitations to the upcoming NFL Combine.
What once seemed improbable at the start of the previous season is now viewed as a realistic possibility for 2024, as the Tigers have a chance to compete in the College Football Playoff’s new 12-team format.
Missouri is also setting its sights on an SEC Championship for the next season. Even if they fall short of that goal, the unanimous approval of the 5-7 format on Tuesday provides them with an opportunity to qualify for the CFP.
