The Suns have inked a deal with former Raptors forward Thaddeus Young, bolstering their frontcourt depth as they push for a playoff spot.
On Tuesday, the Phoenix Suns bolstered their roster by adding forward Thaddeus Young, enhancing their veteran leadership amidst a competitive Western Conference playoff push. With 1,162 career games under his belt, Young stands as the third most experienced active player, trailing only LeBron James and Chris Paul. Standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing 235 pounds, he previously played 23 games for the Toronto Raptors this season, contributing an average of 5.0 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, including six starts.
The Suns currently hold the sixth position in the Western Conference playoff standings. The top six teams in each conference secure direct passage to the initial best-of-seven round, bypassing the play-in tournament involving the 7-10 seeds.
James Jones, the Suns’ general manager, expressed confidence in Young’s addition, highlighting his respected veteran status and his potential to elevate the team’s performance in pursuit of an NBA Championship. Praising Young’s intelligence, competitive spirit, size, and defensive prowess, Jones emphasized the versatility he brings to the Suns’ roster.
