The Eagles ink a deal with offensive tackle Darian Kinnard prior to NFL free agency.

On Tuesday, the Eagles announced two roster adjustments by signing running back Tyrion Davis-Price and offensive lineman Darian Kinnard ahead of NFL free agency.

Selected by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft from Kentucky, Kinnard was initially viewed more as a guard during his college career, and his challenges at the tackle position in Kansas City seemed to confirm those initial assessments.

Kinnard managed to secure a spot on the Chiefs’ roster in 2022 but only saw action in one game, participating in six special teams snaps.

During the 2023 season, Kinnard was part of the practice squad, ultimately traveling to Las Vegas for the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory against the 49ers.

In his senior year at Kentucky, Kinnard received numerous accolades, including being named a consensus first-team All-American by various organizations such as the Football Writers Association of America, Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, Walter Camp Football Foundation, CBS/247sports, Phil Steele, and the Senior Bowl. Additionally, he earned second-team All-American recognition from Pro Football Focus, The Sporting News, USA Today, and The Athletic.

Among Power Five conference tackles, Kinnard was one of just three players to achieve an 85 percent or higher grade as both a run and pass blocker, according to Pro Football Focus. He also garnered consensus first-team All-SEC honors for his exceptional performance.
