Kentucky Football has secured the signing of versatile athlete Jaden Smith.
Kentucky head football coach Mark Stoops has officially announced the signing of Jaden Smith from West Charlotte High School in Charlotte, North Carolina, to a National Letter of Intent.
Smith, standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 201 pounds, will join the Wildcats this summer following an exceptional senior season. He showcased impressive stats with 91 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 14 quarterback hurries, 13 pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and two defensive touchdowns. Additionally, he contributed three blocked punts and two blocked field goals on special teams.
Coach Stoops expressed enthusiasm about Smith’s versatile athleticism, noting his ability to perform effectively across multiple defensive positions. He described Smith as an impact player and highlighted the team’s excitement about adding him to their talented roster.
Smith is widely regarded as a consensus four-star prospect by major recruiting platforms and is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in North Carolina and No. 92 nationally. The 247Sports Composite lists him as the No. 11 athlete in the high school class of 2024. He has earned recognition as a four-time All-Conference selection and was named the 2023 Queen City 3A/4A Defensive Player of the Year at linebacker by The Charlotte Observer. He also received First Team All-State honors from HighSchoolOT in his senior year.
Under the guidance of Coach Sam Greiner at West Charlotte High School, Smith helped lead his team to a 9-4 overall record and a berth in the third round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s 3A West playoffs in 2023.
Smith ultimately chose Kentucky over Michigan to continue his collegiate football career.
