Gabby Agbonlahor is fervently hoping for Ipswich to achieve promotion instead of Leeds.
He was accompanied by Ipswich standout and regular host Alan Brazil, a former player for Ipswich, on talkSPORT Breakfast.
“I’d rather see Ipswich secure promotion before Leeds, Al,” Agbonlahor expressed on talkSPORT ahead of Leeds vs Leicester on Friday night.
“Under [Marcelo] Bielsa, they seemed to be conceding six goals every match; it felt like a basketball game!
“He was marking Marcus Rashford man-to-man; even Luke Ayling was placed at right-back.
“Rashford would find himself clean through, spinning, and scoring.”
Agbonlahor added: “Everyone I talk to expresses the same sentiment, ‘yes, I hope Ipswich comes up’.”
“They’re considered people’s second team, and the narrative of achieving promotion two years in a row—just imagine that.
“I just believe it would be quite disheartening for Leeds, Southampton, and Ipswich for whoever doesn’t make it.”
