Rams part ways with center Brian Allen following his six-season tenure.

The Los Angeles Rams have decided not to retain Brian Allen. The seasoned player, with six years under his belt, was considered a potential casualty due to salary constraints this offseason, and on Wednesday, the Rams confirmed this speculation.

The team announced Allen’s release after his six-season tenure, expressing gratitude to the veteran center on social media. Allen, a fourth-round pick by the Rams in 2018, had signed a three-year, $18 million extension in 2022.

Throughout his time with the Rams, Allen started 32 games and participated in 50, although he missed the entire 2020 season without playing a single game due to injuries. His career in Los Angeles was marred by injuries, significantly limiting his appearances in 2019, 2022, and 2023.

With a projected cap hit of $8.05 million for the upcoming year, the Rams’ decision to release Allen will result in savings of $4.9 million, albeit with a dead cap charge of $3.15 million in 2024.
