Terry Rozier and Josh Richardson sustained injuries during the Miami Heat’s defeat.

Terry Rozier and Josh Richardson sustained injuries during the Miami Heat’s 110-106 loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday.

Rozier, who scored 13 points, landed awkwardly on his right leg while driving to the basket midway through the third quarter. Coach Erik Spoelstra announced that both players would undergo MRI exams on Monday.

The Heat were already missing star forward Jimmy Butler, who was sidelined earlier due to personal reasons related to the death of a family member, according to a statement from the Heat provided by Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee.

Duncan Robinson of Miami expressed disappointment about the injuries, saying, “It’s tough to see guys like that go down.” Richardson left the game in the second quarter due to a right shoulder injury, falling to the floor in pain after attempting to strip the ball from Jayson Tatum.

Richardson described the moment, stating, “I felt my shoulder pop out on the floor and then it popped back in laying on the ground, so thank goodness for that.” He added that he would know more about the injury after further evaluation.

During the game, Robinson also appeared to favor his left shoulder after being pushed by Brown into the stands during a tussle for position early in the fourth quarter. Brown received a flagrant foul 1 for the incident.

Jayson Tatum led the Boston Celtics with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists, helping his team withstand a late rally from the Heat. Kristaps Porzingis contributed 25 points, Jaylen Brown added 20, and Jrue Holiday scored 15 for Boston, which made 16 of 39 attempts from 3-point range.

The Celtics have won all three matchups against the Heat this season and six of the last seven games against them. The Heat’s lone win came in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals last season. Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla credited his team’s late-game execution for their victory.

Tyler Herro led the Heat with 24 points, scoring 22 of them in the second half, while Bam Adebayo scored 22 points, and Robinson and Caleb Martin each contributed 15 points.
