Thomas Tuchel is unexpectedly being considered as a potential replacement for David Moyes at West Ham United if Moyes departs. This development follows Tuchel’s announcement that he will step down as Bayern Munich manager at the end of the season, despite having been in the role for less than a year.

Tuchel has prior experience in the Premier League, having previously managed Chelsea for a year and a half. Despite winning the Champions League with Chelsea a year prior to his dismissal in September 2022, Tuchel’s tenure came to an end.

If Tuchel does indeed make the surprising move to West Ham after his time at Bayern, there is speculation about which players he might bring with him. Three potential options have been identified by Express Sport.

West Ham: Thomas Tuchel update shared amid David Moyes latest

One of Tuchel’s recent signings, Eric Dier, joined Bayern on a short-term loan from Tottenham Hotspur during the January transfer window. While Dier has been a regular feature for Bayern, it seems unlikely that the new Bayern manager, whoever that may be, would opt to make the transfer permanent. Dier’s contract expires in the summer, making him a potentially valuable addition for Tuchel at West Ham. With over 270 Premier League appearances to his name, the 30-year-old brings significant experience to the table.

Hayden Hackney is another player who could find himself at West Ham next season, regardless of whether Tuchel becomes manager. The 21-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to West Ham, with reports suggesting he is seen as an alternative to Kalvin Phillips, who arrived at the club from Manchester City in January but has struggled to impress. Hackney, known for his composure in central midfield, has been catching the eye with Middlesbrough in the Championship and possesses the kind of talent that Tuchel could help develop.
