Sharks prop Braden Hamlin-Uele has extended his commitment to the club until the end of 2026 by signing a two-year contract extension. The New Zealand and Samoa representative has predominantly played for the Sharks, with just one NRL game outside the black, white, and blue jersey since his debut with the Cowboys in 2017.

Expressing his deep attachment to the club and his teammates, Hamlin-Uele emphasized his gratitude for the opportunity to continue with the Sharks for another two years. He considers the club and his fellow players as a second family.

In addition, promising young forward Jesse Colquhoun has also secured a two-year contract extension with the Sharks. Possessing versatility both in the middle and on the edge, Colquhoun has garnered confidence from Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon and General Manager of Football Darren Mooney, who foresee a bright future for him.

Meanwhile, Roosters prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has announced that the 2024 season will be his last in the NRL, with plans to join Hull KR in 2025. He highlighted Hull KR’s progress and expressed enthusiasm for the move, citing his previous positive experiences in England.

Waerea-Hargreaves, a highly respected figure in the league, conveyed his decision to retire after his 15th season with the Roosters in a letter to the club’s members. With three premiership wins with the Roosters and a distinguished career spanning 16 seasons in the NRL, he is hailed as one of the finest forwards to don the Roosters jersey by coach Trent Robinson.

On another front, the Canberra Raiders have secured forward Pasami Saulo for an additional two seasons, extending his contract until the end of 2026. Saulo, who joined the Raiders from the Knights in 2023, expressed excitement about the team’s trajectory towards becoming the best in the competition.

Elsewhere, NSW Origin centre Bradman Best has renewed his contract with the Knights for another three seasons, ensuring his stay in Newcastle until at least 2027. Having progressed through the Knights’ junior ranks, Best made his NRL debut in 2019 and has since become a key player for the team.

Furthermore, following an impressive performance in a trial match, the Sea Eagles have elevated veteran forward Nathan Brown to their Top 30 squad for the 2024 season. Brown, promoted from a train and trial deal, has earned selection for Manly’s season opener in Las Vegas after demonstrating determination and intensity during the preseason, according to coach Anthony Seibold.
