Bohemians make a move to acquire St Francis defender Divin Isamala, while Luke Matheson joins on loan from Bolton Wanderers.

The Gypsies had recently added Jevon Mills and Aboubacar Keita to their squad earlier in the week to address their defensive issues. With Rob Cornwall sidelined for the season due to a serious knee injury, Bohs only had Cian Byrne as the sole available center-back.

Isamala has joined Declan Devine’s team from St Francis, a top-flight team in the Leinster Senior League, while Matheson arrives at the club on loan from Bolton Wanderers.

“Divin has been on our radar for quite some time,” stated Devine. “He trained with us during the preseason, and we were impressed with his abilities. He came very close to signing with an English Championship club last year, so we’re thrilled that he’s opted to pursue his career here in the League of Ireland with Bohs.”

Speaking about Matheson, Devine said, “Luke is an excellent young talent, and we’re excited to have him join the club. He brings a lot of enthusiasm and is eager to get started with us.”
