Ole Miss aims for a strong beginning at the Clemson Softball Classic this weekend.
With a record of 9-1 in their first 10 games of the season, Ole Miss Softball is experiencing its best start ever. The team is set to hit the road for the Clemson Classic this weekend, where they will face off against UConn, Miami (OH), and the host team, No. 9 Clemson.
Ole Miss head coach Jamie Trachsel has seen standout performances from right-hand pitcher Makenna Kliethermes, who currently holds a 4-0 record with a 0.82 ERA and 31 strikeouts, ranking 13th nationally. Additionally, fifth-year senior Delaney Rummell has achieved hits in all 10 games this season, while junior Jaden Pone leads the team with 16 hits and a .500 batting average.
The Clemson Tigers, led by coach John Rittman, are off to a strong start with a 6-2 record. Valarie Cagle, the reigning National Player of the Year, has been a standout player for the Tigers, contributing both in the circle and at bat.
Miami (OH), under the leadership of Head Coach Kirin Kumar, has started the season with a perfect 7-0 record. They feature Jenna Golembiewski, who was the 2023 MAC Player of the Year.
UConn, led by coach Laura Valentino, has begun the season with a 4-7 record. Grace Jenkins, the reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, has been a key player for the team.
Ole Miss Softball’s stellar start to the season includes a nine-game winning streak. The team will look to maintain their momentum at the Clemson Classic before returning home for the Ole Miss Classic.
