Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins dismisses rumors of departing from the team.

NASHVILLE — As the NFL offseason unfolds between the Super Bowl and the Scouting Combine, rumors and speculation have begun circulating. This week, a Twitter account named “NFL Rumors” suggested the possibility of DeAndre Hopkins leaving the Tennessee Titans.

The tweet from NFL Rumors on X stated, “Tennessee Titans DeAndre Hopkins could look for another team next season on a mutual parting of ways. Hopkins came there with Mike Vrabel and his former OC with the Texans, both are now gone. D Hop would have a $16.4M cap savings if cut with June 1st designation.”

In response to the tweet, Hopkins swiftly replied with the word “cap” and exclamation points, a common social media shorthand indicating skepticism or dismissal.

Social media, while providing a platform for diverse voices, also occasionally amplifies unsubstantiated claims. In this instance, the Twitter account NFL Rumors, boasting over 250,000 followers, caught the attention of Hopkins.

Considering that Hopkins is the Titans’ premier wide receiver entering the final year of a two-year, $26 million deal, it seems improbable that the team would part ways with him. In fact, Hopkins has been actively engaged in recruiting efforts for the Titans.

A notable instance was his recent response to an Instagram post by Tee Higgins, a pending free agent and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver. Hopkins used the crossed swords emoji, associated with the Titans brand and featured in the team’s Twitter bio, suggesting his ongoing commitment to the Titans’ cause.
