Roosters discover a “brave” talent; speedster shines in Rabbitohs’ dominant victory: Key takeaways from the match.

The main stars may have been in the United States preparing for next week’s groundbreaking double-header in Las Vegas, but the Roosters seem to be in capable hands following their young players’ consecutive pre-season challenge victories, triumphing 46-10 over their arch-rivals.

Matt French and Leon Te Hau managed to score the only two tries for the Rabbitohs in a match they would prefer to erase from memory.

However, for the Tricolours, coach Brett Morris couldn’t be more pleased, as his team scored an impressive nine tries despite the rainy conditions at Belmore Oval.

The scoring began with Meli Nasau on the left wing, followed by Turoa Williams on the opposite side of the field. After enduring several significant tackles, backrower Corey Ross capitalized on a grubber kick for another try.

Salesi Foketi seized on a pass from dummy-half Benaiah Ioelu, who celebrated his 20th birthday with a significant win.

Kyron Fekitoa executed a clever backline play in the second half, while Callum Gromek notched up a smart double.

To wrap up the match, both Michael Coleman and Emery Jolliffe contributed to the scoresheet in a dominant performance.

**RECRUIT WATCH**

Braidon Burns is a familiar face in the South Sydney backline and may feature at some point this season after spending two years with Canterbury. Burns set up a try and made over 100 meters while playing at fullback. He could potentially be in contention for a spot in the back five given the extended absences of Campbell Graham and Tyrone Munro due to injury.

Although the seasoned player currently lacks an NRL contract and will have to wait until Round 11, he has expressed his aspirations. Prior to the game, Burns disclosed his interest in the No.14 jersey and his hope to break into first grade coming off the bench.
