Leeds United’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City, led by Daniel Farke’s Whites, shakes up the title race with a remarkable late comeback.

Leeds dramatically altered the course of the Championship title race by overcoming a 1-0 deficit to defeat Leicester 3-1, narrowing the Foxes’ lead at the top to six points.

Wout Faes’ headed goal in the 15th minute initially put Leicester in the lead, holding onto it until the final 10 minutes of regulation time, despite Patson Daka having a second goal controversially disallowed for offside just before the hour mark.

However, Leeds, who had not managed a shot on target in the first 67 minutes, mounted a remarkable comeback.

Connor Roberts scored his first goal since joining on loan from Burnley in January, followed by teenager Archie Gray’s shot deflecting off Hamza Choudhury and Faes before finding the net, sparking jubilation at Elland Road.

Substitute Patrick Bamford extended Leeds’ lead further in stoppage time, converting Daniel James’ late free-kick, securing a ninth consecutive league victory for Daniel Farke’s team.

Leeds’ stunning victory unfolded amidst high stakes, with the team on an eight-match winning streak and Leicester determined to maintain their top position. The match lived up to its billing, with both teams exchanging half-chances in an engaging start.

Daka’s opener, courtesy of Faes’ header, provided a moment of relief for Leicester. Despite Leeds’ attempts to breach Leicester’s defense, they struggled to create clear opportunities in the first half.

Leicester should have added a second goal when Daka’s shot found the net after Jannik Vestergaard’s header hit the woodwork, but the strike was disallowed for offside, a decision that appeared incorrect upon review.

Roberts equalized for Leeds, followed swiftly by Gray’s decisive goal, aided by deflections, shifting the momentum in Leeds’ favor.

The climax arrived in the 95th minute when James’ free-kick slipped under the wall and was nudged over the line by Bamford, sealing a captivating conclusion to the match.
