West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has issued a public apology to Liverpool players and fans after a wild prediction about the Reds earlier this season came back to haunt him
Michail Antonio has said sorry to Liverpool’s players and fans after his big prediction didn’t come true.
Back in September, when West Ham went to play at Anfield, Antonio was sure his team would win against Liverpool and even finish higher than them this season. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side comfortably saw off the Hammers by cruising to a 3-1 victory at Anfield.
This was then followed up with another crushing win in the League Cup, which saw the Premier League leaders batter the East Londoners 5-1. And with the Merseysiders top of the Premier League table and West Ham down in ninth, Antonio, 33, has now backtracked on his baffling claim, the Liverpool Echo report.
