Fakaosi faces judiciary charge; Sipley receives a three-game suspension.

Roosters forward Tayson Fakaosi faces charges for a Crusher Tackle on Rabbitohs halfback Jarrett Subloo in the Pre-Season Challenge clash on Friday night.

Fakaosi is subject to a $1500 fine with an early guilty plea. However, if he opts to contest the charge at the judiciary and is unsuccessful, the fine will increase to $2000.

In other Pre-Season Round 2 incidents, Sea Eagles prop Toafofoa Sipley has accepted an early guilty plea for a Grade 2 Crusher Tackle charge. Consequently, he will miss the first three matches of the season, including the clash against the Rabbitohs in Las Vegas as well as Rounds 2 and 3.

Warriors rookie Zyon Maiu’u was found guilty at the judiciary but succeeded in having a Grade 2 Reckless High Tackle charge downgraded to a Grade 3 Careless High Tackle, resulting in a two-game ban.

Wests Tigers recruit Samuela Fainu accepted the early guilty plea for a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle charge and incurred a $1000 fine.

Titans forward Klese Haas accepted an early guilty plea for a Contrary Conduct charge and was fined $1000.

Raiders lower-grader Noah Martin accepted an early guilty plea for a Careless High Tackle charge and will be banned for one game, along with Melbourne’s Jontay-Junior Betham-Misa (Crusher Tackle) and Newcastle’s Sebastian Su’a (Shoulder Charge), who chose suspension over a monetary fine under Rule 41BB(1).

Sharks forward Thomas Hazelton was fined $3000 for a Careless High Tackle on Mat Croker.

Dragon Viliami Fifita and Eel Makahesi Makatoa were both fined $1000 for Grade 1 Dangerous Contact offenses after accepting early guilty pleas.

On the suspension front, Rabbitohs star recruit Jack Wighton will be sidelined until Round 3 of the NRL Telstra Premiership due to a three-game suspension following Canberra’s elimination final loss to the Knights last season. He will miss games against the Sea Eagles and Broncos before returning to face the Roosters in Round 3.

Roosters’ Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was charged with Dangerous Contact and Striking following the Round 26 win over Wests Tigers. He will miss the trip to Las Vegas when the Roosters face the Broncos.

Raider Seb Kris received a five-game suspension for a Dangerous Throw against the Sharks in Round 27. He missed the Raiders’ finals loss to the Knights and three Kiwi Tests and will complete his ban in Round 1 when the Green Machine travels to Newcastle.
