The Vols secure victory in their inaugural game against Albany.

In the opening game, No. 8 Tennessee (5-1) emerged victorious over Albany (0-1) with a score of 8-5 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on Friday.

This game marks the beginning of a three-game series between the Vols and Great Danes.

The second game is scheduled for Saturday with the first pitch set for 2 p.m. EST, followed by the series finale on Sunday at 1 p.m. EST. Both matchups will be available for viewing on SEC Network+.

AJ Russell took the mound for Tennessee in the first game against Albany, pitching three innings and tallying four strikeouts. He allowed three hits, one walk, and no runs.

Tennessee managed to accumulate 11 hits during the game, with Blake Burke launching his first home run of the 2024 season.
