Iheanacho poised to make Leicester City comeback against Leeds United in Championship
Kelechi Iheanacho is in the running to make his debut for Leicester City after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, with the potential for his first appearance against Leeds United on Friday.
Having been away for approximately a month due to his participation with the Super Eagles in the AFCON 2023 finals, the 27-year-old rejoined the club last week. However, he was not included in the matchday squad for the recent home loss to Middleborough.
Manager Enzo Maresca addressed Iheanacho’s availability for the upcoming match at Elland Road, stating, “Kele (Iheanacho) just came back from international duty and has trained with us for a few days. He is in the squad, but we will make the appropriate decision for the next game.”
The Elland Road encounter will feature the top two teams in the Sky Bet Championship, with Leicester City currently holding a nine-point lead at the summit.
