Travis Kelce, standout player for the Kansas City Chiefs, contributes $100,000 to support individuals injured during the Super Bowl victory parade.
According to representatives for the NFL star who spoke to NBC’s Today, Travis Kelce’s Eighty-Seven and Running foundation has generously made two separate donations of $50,000 (£40,000) each to a GoFundMe campaign aimed at providing financial assistance to two sisters injured during a shooting incident. This incident, which occurred on February 14th, tragically resulted in one fatality and left 22 individuals wounded. Two juveniles have been charged in connection with the shooting.
In addition to Kelce’s contribution, the young sisters, aged 8 and 10, received a visit from the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, and his wife, Brittany.
Kelce’s partner, the renowned pop superstar Taylor Swift, who was present at the Super Bowl but did not attend the victory parade, also contributed $100,000 (£79,000) to the family of the deceased victim from the shooting.
Kelce expressed his sorrow over the incident on social media, stating that he was “heartbroken” by the tragic events that unfolded following the team’s celebratory parade. He extended his thoughts to all those affected and emphasized the significance of Kansas City to him.
Nearly a decade ago, Kelce established the Eighty-Seven & Running foundation, named after his jersey number, to support underserved youth in becoming productive members of society by offering mentorship and guidance to help them develop essential life skills.
